Be wary. You will see only a small percentage of bad reviews for this Cuisinart cookware here and Consumer Reports rates it fairly well for the price, although they warn about it not cooking evenly. I would like this to be a warning to those looking for a good cookware set — that cooking on this set might be a health risk as we experienced pitting in the bottom of the pan even after following all instructions thoroughly.
I placed a large order with Amazon on March 9, 2009 and as usual, they were quite prompt on the order and delivery end. I had done a lot of research and had found the cookware I had wanted for some time. This Cuisinart Classic 17 Pc set looked magnificent. It arrived and I was very excited. It was truly beautiful. But, no instructions on usage. Got on Amazon website , and again, no specific instructions. What was VERY disappointing was that I wrote Amazon a number of times trying to get more specific cooking instructions and never heard back. Finally after several days I wanted to try the cookware and got on the Cuisinart website and got their instructions manual (very thorough). I followed it to a “t”. This Cuisinart set, although beautiful in outward appearance, was quite disappointing. I first used the large sauté pan. We diligently brought it to temperature very slowly, cooked pork chops. They were delicious. But, on beginning the cleaning process (again according to the Cuisinart’s instructions) we noticed some pitting on the bottom of the pan. PITTING!!! I was thinking, at that time, that it might just be one pan. So, I then tried a small frying pan. I put a little oil in it and brought it up to medium temp slowly. I fried an egg. Cleaned according to instructions. Again some small pitting.
Therefore, I am returning this set for refund. I’m not willing to take the health risk of these pittings and the aluminum coming up through the stainless.
I enclosed the only thing that looks like an invoice on this order from your website. I’ve asked you to send invoices to me on all the orders placed that day; but, have never gotten any response to that either. Your website says you can print an invoice; but, I could never find that.

This set seems to be a really good deal considering the price but after I used the 3 qrt. saucepan for the first time, the coating of the bottom was gone. I see a lot of spots where the coating disappear considering I just boiled a water with a corn on it. Called customer service for a possible replacement but told me to send the product with a $10 dollar check and I have to pay for the shipping charges. Will not recommend to anybody.

Purchased this product based on the Cuisinart name. Needless to say we are very disappointed. We looked at and handled the pota and pans in a store before purchasing. The appeared to be good quality mid-priced set. The first time we used the pots, boiling salted water for corn, the inside bottom of the pot became pitted, as if the finish was chipping off. The same thing happened the first time we boiled water for rice in a sauce pan. We intend to contact Cuisinart about this, but hold out little hope. The limited warranty seems to be truely limited, plus they want $7.00 for handling. May just pack it all up and return it to Amazon. Very disappointed with Cuisinart.

I bought these because they received good reviews, but I’ve been disappointed with the quality. The pans spot, and also the sides of the sauce pans burn easily.

Just purchased my second set of this cookware last month, because I LOVED the first set so much. The first set still looks great after lots of use, so I wanted the same set to display in our new pot rack, and boy does it look great. I even got a rebate for a matching mixing bowls set (complete with lids). Great bonus.
My daughter in law also has a set of these and loves them as well.
You cannot go wrong with this product for the money. Highly recommended.

I got this set for Mother’s Day, along with the 5.5 qt saute pan, and have been using it exclusively since. I love, love, love these pots and pans! They heat up evenly and quickly – sometimes too quickly, so be sure to monitor the heat setting you use. I’ve found that using a medium-low setting cooks just about everything beautifully. I’ve had no problems at all with sticking, just be sure to use some oil or butter. I wanted to get a set that is dishwasher safe, and these are, but they clean so easily that I’ve handwashed them every time. Hot, soapy water in the pan while we’re eating is all I’ve ever done and they wash like a dream. Occasional heat marks, but a touch of Bon Ami or Barkeeper’s Friend and they’re gone. I plan on buying a few other pieces from this collection to completely meet my needs, and I’m buying the 17 pc set for my daughter.

This is an awesome set of cookware at a great price! They have the quality I wanted and have done a great job for us. If you want a good solid set of stainless cookware this is it and at a better price than what I looked at in several stores. I do recommend buying a can of Barkeepers Friend cleanser. Just a little sprinkle and a wash makes them look like new. As always Amazon did a great job getting them to me. Would definately buy again.

I purchased the Kitchen Aid pots and pans based on Amazon customer reviews and Consumer Reports review. These were a gift. They live up to the reviews. I am buying another set for myself.

This is a great set. All the pots and pans I need; even cooking. Great price. Arrived well packaged.

After 30 years of using my Revere ware, I purchased a department store’s name brand stainless steel cookware. I did not like it because the handle was partially covered with silicon, but would still get hot along the metal sides of the handle.
The Kitchenaide stainless steel cookware is great. The handle is completely covered with silicon and can be picked up with out a mitt. Great weight, heats quickly, and looks great. The only minor complaint is the lid will not fit upside down on pot for storeage/stacking.

I’ve had this set for about a year. My set was made in China. Used daily, and frequently entertain parties of 20+. I’ve used All Clad, etc. Cuisinart Multiclad is an EXCELLENT product. Performance is nothing short of terrific. I’ve had ZERO problems and highly recommend this set. For those new to stainless pans, follow the easy care instructions. There are good tips in other reviewers posts here (barkeepers friend, moderate/low heat, acidic foods should not set in the pans, etc.) Enjoy!
