When I first got the pans they were great. The food would slide right off without any oil. However after 2 – 3 months of use food would stick. Even with adding a lot of oil, food still sticks. I’ve had the pans for less than 6 months and I’m now looking for new pans as I’m tired of having food stick every time I use them even though I’m adding oil.

Absolutely it is not dishwasher safe. I would suggest that anyone should stay away from Kitchenaid cookware. Yes, they have a nice warranty…HOWEVER, after using my set only a couple of months, the red started to fade. Upon reading the fine print in that wonderful warranty, I see that you are not supposed to expose the cookware to high temperatures. SAY WHAT?? It’s COOKWARE. Okay… and then I also find in the warranty that it’s not DISHWASHER SAFE. !!!! What in the world?!? We are not living in the stone age. Who makes cookware that’s not dishwasher safe. The non-stick finish seemed to be working okay… but the red outside of the cookware looks TERRIBLE. It quickly became faded and chipped. I’m now in the market for a new set of cookware that will withstand HEAT and the DISHWASHER.

I bought my KitchenAid cookware about a year ago. They are still in great shape, despite daily use. I especially love the 12-inch covered saute pan! It’s great for making stir fry, fried rice, spaghetti sauce, grilled cheese, steak, or sauteed veggies! The helper handle really comes in handy when moving the pan. The reason why I gave it four stars is the fact that they have to be handwashed.

I love this cookware. Hands down the best I have ever cooked with. Of course there are some down sides to this cookware but if you read the IMPORTANT SAFETY, USE AND CARE INFORMATION it will help you avoid disappointments. For instance you cannot wash these in the dishwasher…it is stated in the IMPORTANT SAFETY packet in the section aptly named CLEANING.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CERAMIC/GLASS STOVETOPS helps you decide how to correctly use your cookware on certain cooktops. In the packet it says, “We recommend the use of flat-bottomed stainless steel, hard-anodized exterior, or silicone polyester cookware. We DO NOT recommend the use of porcelain enameled cookware on ceramic/glass cook tops. Overheating or allowing porcelain enameled or silicone polyester cookware to boil dry can result in the fusing of the cookware to your ceramic/glass stovetop…” it also states to “Never place a hot pan on a cool ceramic/glass stovetop burner. This can also cause fusing of the pan to the stovetop.”
Just some advice for fully enjoying your KitchenAid Cookware to its fullest!
Happy Cooking!

I am a single dad and this set has made cooking and cleaned up quick and simple. Heat transfer is good and everything works and fits together as it should. Its a huge leap up from the cheap stuff you get a the local chains. The handles are great and cleanup has been very fast.

I bought these pots without reading the fine print and seeing that they are not dishwasher safe. After only 3 or 4 times in the dishwasher the color fades from a wonderful red to a cruddy looking light pink with white haze. In addition, the bottoms chip easily.
I wouldn’t recommend at all.

A beautiful set to look at until you put them on heat. When I brought them home, not only did they tarnish and discolor when being used on an Induction Cooktop, but all the pots leaked at their handle rivit points. I returned to Kohls for another set. This set did not leak, but still tarnished just the same. I really don’t feel like polishing my cookware after every use to keep them looking beautiful. I WOULD NOT PURCHASE THEM AGAIN! When I called KitchenAid customer service on the first leaking set, they said for me to send them back to them at my expense. That would have been very expensive. I don’t call this good customer service. I returned to Kohls with no hassel what so ever.Think again before you purchase this cookware. Gourmet they definitely are not.

Received pots a few days ago and with first use water was leaking out of the rivets in the pan. Tested the rest by boiling water in them and found they all had leaking rivets where the handles attached. Returning item and looking elsewhere.
Quite unfortunate, as these are nice looking, good cooking weight and induction-safe.

I have been using these pots and pans for about a month now and love every minute with them. These are the first pots and pans my wife and I have owned that are not non-stick. That said, my wife was reasonably tentative with the new technique, as was I truth be told. However, these pans heat so evenly and with lower temp settings on our gas stove, that I have quickly fallen in love with their cooking ability.
The small skillet works great for omelets and I loved the bowed edges of the pots – perfect for stirring and whisking, as the product descriptions state.
The lids are easy to clean. This was a must for me in a new cookware set, as I hate trying to pry grease and gunk out of narrow recesses of poorly made lids.
The handles can get hot at times, and I have learned to carefully center the pieces over the flame to prevent heat from creeping up to the handle. Just the same, I advise caution when cooking with this set if it’s new to you too.
Finally, the whole set looks stunning on our cook top, not that this is the best reason to decide on a cookware set, it is a great fringe benefit, however! The layer of copper on the bottom of the pot does tend to shift color with use, but I enjoy that “used” look, and don’t expect it to stay the “new and unused” color of polished copper.

KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set Treated myself to this set for Mother’s Day. This cookware is beautiful. I have none of the problems mentioned in some reviews regarding food sticking and difficulty with cleaning. If you use pan spray or a little cooking oil and stay away from high heat, the pans clean easily. Everything cooks beautifully on low or medium. I have seen no evidence of any leakage around the rivets, also mentioned in some reviews. I have used them daily since mid-May, and love them.

My wife recently began researching possible harmful items in our home, and asked me to get cookware without Teflon. Having grown up with non-stick pans, and having had a bad encounter with stainless steel, I was expecting this change to be a nightmare. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised.
I researched healthy alternatives to non-stick and came up with ionized aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron and ceramic coated cast iron. None of these seemed like a great choice. I then went to Bed Bath and Beyond to look at pans and discovered the Cuisinart Green line. After seeing the cast iron, I realized we probably would somehow damage our new glasstop stove as it was so heavy, so ceramic coated aluminum sounded great.
I settled on either Calphalon One infused ionized aluminum or the Cuisinart line. However, Bed Bath and Beyond is a bit confusing with the Cuisinart line. They sell Cuisinart “Greenware” as a set and Green “Gourmet” as individual pieces. The Green Gourmet set is a bit more expensive, and I was advised by the salesperson not to buy GreenWare as it has a rough bottom that may scratch a glass top stove. He offerred to order a Green Gourmet set, but I decided to buy one Caphalon and one GreenGourmet frying pan and test them before investing in a set. I honestly didn’t expect either to work as well as my non-stick pans.
I generally only cook breakfast on the weekends, so I cooked what I know how to cook. I took both pans and set the burner at the same setting (6 on my stove which is the setting I used for the non-stick pans). I made pancake batter and used an organic olive oil cooking spray. Interestingly, the Cuisinart pan was too hot at 6 so the pancakes burned and I had to set the stove at 4 to get the same results as the 6 on the Calphalon pan. Both pans were great with the pancakes–better than my non-stick pan and probably the prettiest looking pancakes I have ever made. The Cuisinart pan was very easy to clean, but the Calphalon took a bit more effort. On another day, I cooked eggs. Again using the same Olive Oil spray. The eggs immediately stuck to the Calphalon pan. Having read instructions on using cast iron and waiting for the eggs to “release”, I waited, and waited and waited. What a mess! I couln’t get the burnt eggs off the pan. Of course as soon as I put the pan in the sink with water, they popped right off so clean up was easy. I’m sure there is a correct way to cook eggs on this pan, but I couldn’t do it after 4 tries. On the Cuisinart Pan, I had no problem, and surprisingly, the eggs seemed to be easier to turn over than on our old Farberware non-stick.
So after this, I decided to get the Cuisinart and ordered from Amazon which was $50 cheaper than the price quoted by the Bed Bath and Beyond salesperson who offerred to order it for me.

Befroe receiving the set, I was worried about potential quality issues, but it turned out to be well made and seems to be a very nice product…the only reason it did not get a full 5 stars is that the steamer insert sits (rubs?) an area where the nonstick coating along the lip of the pot may get damaged over time…that and I would have liked to see a little more variation in pot size in the set…other than that, a nice set…and a great deal for the price!

Birdsafe cookware (no PTFEs!!) Seems to work well. Pans are a little thin, but seem to work OK.

I bought the Cuisinart small frypan at Bed Bath & Beyond the other day to “test” out this new non-stick coating. I wanted something that would not emit toxic fumes but was a good non-stick. I got the pan on special for $19.99- a promotion and saw this set too. BB&B sells this for $249 plus tax plus you have to lug it home (I live in NYC this is an issue). Just as soon as I move I am buying this set and having it shipped (Super Saver) and NO TAX. The small fry pan is great, heats evenly, you need to adjust the flame lover because these are heat efficient and browns really well. I am very impressed and still use the OXO tools for non-stick anyway on them just to keep them nice.
