This handy individual sized casserole is just perfect for the microwave, oven, or storing food in the fridge. I also reccommend the Corning Wear French White 15 oz ovals as well. I use both types when I make a big batch of lazana and place the rest in an individual casseroles. Then, I have my lunch ready for the next day to heat up! Note that this is not the original pyrocream –instead this is made of stoneware. This stoneware works ONLY in a microwave or regular oven. It does not work on the COOKTOP of a stove. Also note that the newer Corning Ware is of stoneware. The reason that I scored this a 4 and not a 5 is because it is not the original procream and it does not work on the cooktop. You will see more in the excellent BLOG if you look for this in Google called: “What happened to Corning Ware?” This is a real eye opener and I learned much reading this wonderful discussion!

I bought this for my Mom as one of her birthday’s gifts. She uses a tea kettle everyday. She loves it!

I found the tea kettle to be very cute. However, there is no real way to wash the inside unless you buy some type of liquid cleaner, but I guess since you only put water in it, there is not much concern about this. But it is very nice. I would recommend for any college student that wants to save money on a nice tea kettle, or if you are looking for a deal on a black appliance (if your kitchen colors include the color black). :-)
    Thank you Amazon.com!

This kettle is what you can expect for the price – a basic, sturdy design that will boil you water. Only downside is the spout/cap is constructed so that you have to hold the kettle at an awkward angle at the sink to fill it up with water. Other than that quite serviceable.

  4. Pitelka Says:

    Hard to fill.
Kettle rocks when water is heating.
Cheap materials, you get what you pay for.

Ekco used to make inexpensive but functional kitchen equipment. Apparently not any more. This Tea ketttle is terrible. Not only is it hard to fill it but it is impossible to pour from it with out spilling. I have been trying for months and every time it drips. The spout design is defective. If you buy this tea kettle you will regret it.

Nothing in the review said this would not work on a flat stovetop surface. I just tried to boil water and it was bouncing all over and the water was splashing out. I guess it would have been better on any other surface but I didn’t find out before I bought it.
