My Mom has used a pressure cooker for years…one of the old fashioned ones with the jiggly weight on top. I had never given one much thought until recently. So after much research I bought this set. Now I wonder, “What took me so long?” The modern ones are so much more safe and the stainless steel ones are much lighter than the old cast aluminum ones.
This Fagor U Cook set is well designed and well thought out. It is the best of all pressure cooker worlds, everything is included you will probably need. Dual pressure, well made, large and small pots, can be used as a regular pot w/ glass lid, has the rack and insert baskets (one of which is also a grater), and the large pot fits inside the small one for storage. The included recipe book is a good for starters, but the internet is full of recipes, too.
Yes, it has a learning curve, and yes, you better read the book before you start. No, it won’t replace my microwave, crock pot, or oven, but it will always have a place on my stove. My results, so far, have been good.
I only have a couple of “cons”: First, the main handle is a bit too short and oddly shaped. I find it a bit awkward to hold with my ham hands. It is also a bit awkward to try and hold the spring latch and turn the lid to open it. Second, they recommend storing the lid upside down on top of the pot. The shape of the lid is such that it doesn’t really sit upside down well,
Overall I would buy this set again, and I would get it from Amazon again. I recommend it highly.

The item I ordered came right away with no snags at all. I appreciate working with a company that has such great follow through!

I purchased two 7-piece sets for my adult children for Christmas. (by their request(s)).
They could hardly wait to try them. Both reported on their first efforts at pressure cooking – and were pleased. The set is high quality, easy to use, and the extra pieces give it versatility. The short cooking times will really assist them in preparing good, wholesome food for their families in a shorter time. Having two pan sizes and the glass cover makes the set even better, since it will be used for more than pressure cooking, and not just take up cabinet space.

I got this for Christmas and I have used it several times. Very very well made and heavy duty. I like the idea it has two lids and two cooking pots.
Strainer and more. Everything I have made turned out very well.
I highly recommend this company as well. They stand behind their product.
They are very friendly and helpful.

Just wanted to say that I’ve had this pressure cooker (mine is slightly older than this particular one)for a couple of years now. Not one week has gone by that we have not used it. It is so easy, cleans easily in dishwasher, and makes cooking time much faster. I can put a frozen pork boston butt in it and within an hour or so have pulled pork, very tender and falling apart. Even our friends have commented at how much we use it. If you are always in a hurry but love to cook home cooked meals for your family, this pressure cooker will help you out. It doesn’t really take much to learn to use it, but do read the book. You can only fill with liquid about 2/3 full or it will spit out of the valve. I haven’t had any problems and we have a gas range. From soup, chili and getting meat off the bones, this cooker does it all. The gasket has held up fine as well to the dishwasher without any noticable wear and tear. We bought the set with the 4 qt and 6 qt. They both get used with no problems. Fagor makes a quality product. Buying another set now for the In-laws.
